Fainting Fright

I had a scary morning. Last night I took some decongestant and sleep aid pain pills, which may or may not have contributed to my morning. When I woke up, I felt normal until I got in the shower and started rinsing the shampoo out of my hair. My vision started blacking out. I sat down and felt better. I stood back up and almost immediately I completely lost my vision. Blackout. I quickly rinsed the rest of my hair and got out of the shower. I laid on the closet floor for an unknown number of minutes, then quickly got dressed. I felt horrible whenever I was standing up, but I made it in to work anyway. Things got progressively better as the day wore on, especially after I got over my nausea enough to get some food in my stomach. I talked to a nurse and got an appointment for Friday to do some blood work, but the nurse seemed pretty confident that as long as I'm feeling better, I'll be okay. I guess it's not all that uncommon for fainting spells to happen to people during morning showers, especially when the water's too hot. It was freaky.

Oh Mindie!! That sounds so scary. I hope you're feeling much, much better now. Take it easy and don't push yourself. I can't believe you fainted and then went to work. You're so hardcore. I've had similar episodes but for me it's always exercise-induced. When I workout too hard and don't eat enough, I have similar "blackout" events. It's happened to me 2 or 3 times. I always have snacks now!
