Last night, they were talking on the news about the possibility of snow today. When I got up and drove in to work around 5:45, there was a light dusting on the ground and roads. Not slick at all. The snow kept coming, and it came down thicker. After watching squirrels playing in it all morning out my office window, at 10:00 they announced that they were shutting down our customer support phones (which hardly EVER happens), and a little before 11:00, we got word that the whole office was officially closed. When I got to my car in the parking lot, it had at least 3, maybe 4, inches of snow piled on it. The AWD system did its job, though, and I made it home pretty easily at 15 MPH.
Marc and I went out to the store later in the afternoon, and it had gotten worse. Enough of the snow had melted and glazed over to make things pretty slippery. There were lots of cars on the sides of the road, over curbs, and in small ditches along our local neighbood roads. I'll be surprised if things are clear enough tomorrow for my office to open, which is kind of a bummer since Wednesdays are my days off anyway. It sure is pretty though!
We tried taking Max out in the snow, but he wasn't having any of it. Miji, on the other hand, takes every opportunity to try to escape out the door and run around outside. Crazy cat!
